Understanding Our Approach.
As a pediatric provider with many years of experience I have witnessed first hand the effects of vaccine preventable illnesses and diseases on a child’s life. Therefore, I am pro vaccine. At the same time I support a parent’s right to make an informed decision about their child’s healthcare. My priority is always the well-being of your child. Most pediatric practices require strict adherence to the CDC’s vaccination schedule. I understand this requirement for traditional pediatric practices as it has the best interest of your child in mind and protects other vulnerable children in that medical practice.
Does Pediatric Concierge of North Texas Require Vaccines?
You might be wondering about our policy on vaccinations here at Pediatric Concierge of North Texas. While we strongly encourage and recommend following the immunization schedule set forth by the CDC, we do not mandate vaccinations as a requirement for our patients.
This approach is rooted in the unique model of concierge medicine. One of the key benefits of our practice is the significantly reduced exposure risk to other patients. Unlike traditional pediatric offices where numerous families may be present in a waiting room, our concierge model ensures a more individualized and private setting. This minimizes the potential for transmission of illnesses, including vaccine-preventable diseases, within our practice.
Why We Encourage Vaccination:
Despite not requiring immunizations, it’s important for us to emphasize the overwhelming scientific evidence supporting the safety and efficacy of vaccines. The CDC’s immunization schedule is developed based on rigorous research and aims to provide the best protection for your child at the most vulnerable ages. Vaccines have been instrumental in eradicating or significantly reducing the incidence of many serious childhood diseases, such as measles, mumps, rubella, and pertussis.
We believe that vaccination is a crucial tool in protecting your child’s health and contributing to community immunity, which protects those who cannot be vaccinated. We are happy to have open and honest conversations with you about the benefits and risks of vaccines, address any concerns you may have, and provide you with the most up-to-date information.
Our Commitment to Informed Decisions:
At Pediatric Concierge of North Texas, we are committed to empowering you to make informed decisions about your child’s healthcare. We understand that vaccine hesitancy is a complex issue with varying underlying reasons. We are here to listen to your concerns, provide evidence-based information, and work collaboratively with you to determine the best healthcare decisions for your family.
Our concierge model allows for the dedicated time and personalized attention needed to have these important discussions. We want you to feel comfortable asking questions and expressing any reservations you may have.
In Conclusion:
While Pediatric Concierge of North Texas strongly advocates for and encourages adherence to the CDC’s recommended immunization schedule, we do not require vaccinations for our patients due to the inherent lower risk of exposure within our concierge practice. Our priority is to partner with you in making informed decisions that prioritize your child’s health and well-being. We are here to provide the guidance and support you need to navigate these important healthcare choices.
